That's right, spam is horrible on Twitter; but automating Twitter doesn't always mean spam. You're right, if people actually did put thought and feeling into their Tweets and really didn't become lazy and not put effort into their shameful automated DMs it wouldn't be in that situation. Interesting and touchy topic.

I decided I wasn't going to sign up for any automated Twitter feeds but I'm debating now. I don't want to spam the audience. My biggest need is going back to post all of the few hundred blog posts and articles I've written in the past before I ever signed up for Twitter.

I figured there may be a set of 20 to 30 articles I will post as my "best."

Understandable. I actually used Twitterfeed for awhile and had to shut it down because it just wasn't desirable. I don't mind the people I'm following using it as long as that's not the only thing they're tweeting.

You make a great point though. Writing a post can take awhile, but if you have the time to do that, you probably have 10-20 seconds to tweet about your new post.

I definitely like to go into people's profiles now and then to make sure they're actually engaging and not just automating.

My question is if people can take the time out of their day to write a blog post, why can't they just tweet it themselves after they publish it. Is it really that time consuming?

Furthermore, what seems to happen is people set up a TwitterFeed and forget about it. So now if they don't use Twitter for a week but keep updating their blog, their stream gets filled with clutter.

TwitterFeed, for me, is just one more reason I might not follow someone back.
