I think this is a brilliant step forward and a great use of the technology that is available for them to use. It gives relatives a piece of mind and continuous information of the progress they are making. When my Granddad went to war before I was born, there was no social media to help support relatives that were waiting for their loved ones to return safely.

Its great to see social media in a positive light, there are so many negative connotation surrounding this phenomenon.
